Our Holdfasts

I found this little rock washed up on the beach a few weeks ago, with a strange growth attached. It almost looks like a coral, but we’re too far north to find that around here. I’ll venture to say that it’s seaweed. Whatever it is, Continue reading Our Holdfasts

Muddy Reflections

This month my husband and I took a five-day reprieve from winter in New England, and traveled to sunny, warm Texas. At least that’s what we thought we were headed for, sunny and WARM. It had been warm there the week before, getting up into the 80’s, so we were excited about getting an early taste of summer! But that was not to be.  Continue reading Muddy Reflections

Example 3

What is it about the sound of waterfalls that is so relaxing? I found this one in a mountain stream. We have a small waterfall circulating water through the fish pond right outside our living room window. You can even buy smaller ones as indoor decorative water features. We’d struck it rich!!   Continue reading All That Glitters

What is That?

I know you’re simply dying to know now, so I’ll enlighten you.  Continue reading What is That?

Captivating Trees

A tree is a tree is a tree…how can you tell?

I took all of these pictures at my husband’s softball game a few weeks ago. All trees, although they all look completely different! Tall, short, spindly, bushy, green leaves, red leaves, needles, straight limbs, convoluted limbs…but all definitely trees. What makes a tree a tree? Continue reading Captivating Trees
